Maylay Sports Inc. ("Maylay," "we," "us," or "our") operates the Maylay mobile application and website (the "Service"), a sports matchmaking platform for players aged 13 and over. Maylay has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE). These standards state what is prohibited on the Service, how we prevent and detect it, how anyone can report it, and what we do when we find it. They apply to every user on every platform, and they are published here so that anyone can read them.
If you believe a child is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first. In the United States you can also report to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) at report.cybertip.org or 1-800-843-5678.
The following are prohibited everywhere on the Service, including posts, comments, stories, profiles, usernames, photos, video, voice messages, group chats, direct messages, calls and anything shared by link. Attempting any of them, or helping someone else do so, is treated the same as doing it. These standards supplement Section 5 (Community Standards and Prohibited Conduct) and Section 13 (Monitoring and Moderation) of our Terms of Service; where they are stricter, these standards control.
Child sexual abuse material (CSAM): any image, video, audio, text, drawing or computer-generated content that depicts or describes a minor in a sexual way or the sexual abuse of a minor, including content that is edited, synthetic or AI-generated.
Sexualization of minors: presenting a minor in a sexual manner, or soliciting, offering or commenting on a minor in a sexual way.
Grooming: an adult building trust with a minor for a sexual purpose, including flattery or gifts with that aim, asking a minor for photos, personal details or a private meeting, or trying to move a conversation with a minor to another app, a phone number or a private channel.
Sextortion: threatening to share intimate images of a minor, or using such images to coerce anyone.
Trafficking and facilitation: advertising, arranging or seeking sexual contact with a minor, or directing anyone to material or services that involve it.
Minors sharing sexual content of themselves or of other minors.
Maylay is for players aged 13 and over. Sign-up asks for a date of birth on a neutral screen; an account under 13 is deleted immediately and sign-up is closed on that device until that birthday turns 13. On iOS the Declared Age Range API and on Android the Google Play Age Signals API provide a second signal, and the database refuses any birthday under 13 regardless of the app used to submit it.
Ages and birthdays are private: they are never displayed and cannot be used as a filter. Accounts under 18 and accounts 18 and over are kept apart by design:
They do not appear to each other in people search, friend suggestions, the player map, invite pickers or the tag picker.
They cannot send each other friend requests, direct messages or group-chat invites, and cannot start a voice or video call with each other.
They cannot comment on each other's posts or profiles, tag each other, invite each other to a game, rate each other's skill, or exchange payment details.
Each rule is enforced by the database itself, not only by the app, so it cannot be bypassed with a modified client. The record of who a conversation is between cannot be edited after the fact, and a date of birth cannot be changed, blanked or made unreadable once set. An account whose age cannot be established is treated as a minor.
Mixed-age group games are allowed, because that is what a local pickup game is, and a game chat opens only once three or more people are in it. Any text in a chat that includes a minor, and anything an adult publishes to everyone, is additionally screened against a set of grooming patterns that includes attempts to move the conversation off the platform.
Every post, comment, profile field, chat message, group name, join request and venue name is screened by a server-side filter before it is stored. Sexual content, slurs and threats are rejected at submission and never become visible to another user. Because the filter runs in the database, a modified app cannot get around it.
Every uploaded photo is scanned by an automated image-moderation service before other users can see it, and every uploaded video is scanned through a frame captured at upload. A post is scanned before it is published; a profile photo or a chat attachment is scanned the moment it is uploaded. Anything flagged is taken down automatically and escalated to a human moderator.
The in-app web image search runs with safe search forced to strict on our server, and anything chosen from it still passes through the same scan.
Automated systems are a first line, not the last word. Human moderators review every escalation and every report, and they can remove content, suspend or terminate accounts, and preserve evidence.
Reporting is available to every signed-in user, from inside the app, in no more than two taps, with no setup:
Press and hold any message or comment and choose Report.
Tap the ⋯ menu on any post, story, comment, image or profile and choose Report.
Any user can also be blocked from the same menu. Blocking is bidirectional and enforced in the database: the two accounts disappear from each other's feeds, search results, chats and player lists.
Reports are confidential. The person reported is never told who filed the report.
Anyone, whether or not they use Maylay, can report a child safety concern by email to support@maylay.org with the subject line "Child safety". Include the username involved, what you saw, where in the app it was and when. Please do not forward the material itself; a description and the username are enough for us to find it.
Every report is reviewed by a human moderator within 24 hours. A report of sexual content involving a minor hides that content immediately, before anyone has reviewed it.
Confirmed CSAE results in removal of the content and permanent termination of the account. This is not a suspension, and it is not subject to the appeal process that applies to other moderation decisions. We may also act against related accounts.
We preserve the relevant content and account records as the law requires, and we report apparent child sexual abuse material to the NCMEC CyberTipline, as required of United States providers by 18 U.S.C. § 2258A.
We cooperate with law enforcement, including responding to valid legal requests, and we do not notify a user of a report or an investigation where doing so could compromise it.
Maylay complies with the child safety laws that apply to it, including United States federal law on the reporting of child sexual abuse material (18 U.S.C. § 2258A), the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (Maylay does not knowingly permit accounts for anyone under 13 and deletes any it discovers), and applicable state law. We review these standards and the systems behind them at least once a year, and whenever the law or the Service changes. The people who moderate Maylay are trained on these standards.
